artstream in downtown Rochester, NH  presents Rochester’s first second Short Film Festival: “filmstream”.  In the spirit of community, film as an art form and the area’s desire for more film related events, artstream has recognized this need and decided to help fill it. The selected works will be shown on November 18 from 6-9pm at artstream, 56 n. main, rochester, nh

The festival features short films 15 minutes or less in both the student and adult categories. Last year’s event was a huge success with a sell-out audience. Trophies designed by local artist Adam Pearson will be given to the winners of the judges’ and audience’s choice awards.

Frank Marchand provided a steadfast service of barbering in the town of Rochester, New Hampshire for over half a century, so when Frank tells his tales of buzz cuts and close shaves, he also tells the story of Rochester’s colorful past.

Odiorne Point is a beautiful and popular recreation site; and this film is one mans investigation of unusual activity at the park, from devil worship to exhibitionism, which have been reported for almost twenty years.

This is our second year doing filmstream. We are still learning.

Our catagories are simple.
One for students.
One for everyone else.

There are two prizes in each catagory.
One audience pick.
One judges pick.

The prize trophies will be sculptures from Adam Pearson.

rules for entries

There are no themes or categories other than student/everyone else.

The film has to be 15 minutes or less and has to be made in 2005 or 2006.

Entries should be submitted on DVD or VHS by 10/16/2006.
