FALL/WINTER 2011/2012CHILDRENYoung Children’s Class Ages 4-6Exploring and process based learning though positive nurturing teaching styles. All media taught throughout the year including: drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, clay, textiles, collage and more. Mondays 4:30-5:30 pm ** · Amber Lavalley Afterschool Art Ages 7-9Exploring and process based learning though positive nurturing teaching styles. All media taught throughout the year including: drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, clay, textiles, collage and more. Tuesdays 4:30-5:30 pm · Amber Lavalley - SIGN UP Tween Class Drawing and Painting Ages 10-14This class is centered on students who are interested in exploring their artistic and creative side. A range of materials and styles will be presented to the students to help develop their skills and find their own voice. Basic drawing, design and material skills fundamentals will be the core as students expand their knowledge of art. Mondays 5:30-6:30 pm ** · Nick Ellard Tweens 3D Class Ages 10-15Learn the magic of paper mache construction, building your own clay dishes, and much more with this roll up your sleeves 3D class. Many materials will be used and multiple methods taught during this summer course to introduce students to 3D construction. Tuesdays (not Thursdays) 5:30-6:30 pm · Amber Lavalley TEENS AND ADULTSWatercolor Exploration older Teens and AdultsLearn to use watercolor as a painting method that can be spontaneous as well as thought out. Skill building with this fascinating medium and the supports used to create a watercolor painting. No previous experience with watercolor necessary! Mondays 5:30-7:00 pm ** · Amber Lavalley Advanced Painting for AdultsIn this class, painters will work with the instructor to develop their draftsmanship, painting techniques and knowledge of painting materials. Individual attention and challenges alike! Mondays 7:00-8:30 pm ** · Nick Ellard Handbuilding with Clay for AdultsFor beginners and advanced students. Handbuilding with clay will include self-exploration in slab, pinch and coil construction with sessions building on previous classes. Tuesdays 6:00-8:00 pm · Susan Schwake Mixed Media for Adults and older TeensThis class will explore preparing backgrounds, composition, layers, drawn elements and an encyclopedia of playful methods to create exciting beautiful works of art on a variety of surfaces. Some materials supplied materials list will be supplied at first class. Wednesdays 5:30-7:30 pm · Susan Schwake Exploring the Portrait for Adults and older TeensThis class will examine portraits from multiple perspectives while concentrating on draftsmanship, likeness and intention. Materials will be flexible but the class will focus on drawing and painting. Wednesdays 5:30-7:00 pm · Nick Ellard Daytime Painting for AdultsAll levels learn the basics and beyond. Emphasis on personal style, individual help and problem solving. Thursdays 3:00-4:30 pm · Tracy Button Adult Beginning PaintingWant to paint for the first time or begin again? Don’t be shy! This class will immerse you in acrylic/oil painting right away. Emphasis on personal style with skill building each week. Thursdays 5:30-7:00 pm · Tracy Button Adult and older Teens DrawingEach student will explore drawing techniques, personal style and lots of perspective, foreshortening and trouble areas and traps in drawing. Each student should come to the first class with some vine charcoal and a large oversized pad of newsprint drawing paper. Thursdays 7:00-8:30 pm · Tracy Button

| 8-WEEK SESSIONS |

Our classes run in eight week sessions to accommodate plenty of time for student exploration of the medium in use and completion of work. Payments are due by the first class with a half tuition deposit at time of registration. This holds your place and is nonrefundable as it secures the space for the student. We charge a once-a-year $10 registration fee - that means you won't pay the fee for additional classes you take in the next 12 months. There is a limit of eight students to each class. Sessions 2011/2012:
** Monday classes on holidays (October 10 and May 28) will be held the following Friday at the regular time. |
